The pour

Brewed every two hours.

Jasmine and pandan tea go in the pot every two hours. What is left after four hours goes down the drain, never into tomorrow.

Milk poured to order.

Nothing waits in a pitcher. The taro is steamed and mashed at 8 am, and the milk goes in when your cup is up.

Pearls cooked at 10 and 2.

Two small batches a day, simmered in brown sugar, so every pearl is soft all the way through.

Six cups. Pick a color.

Scroll to turn the counter. Order one as it is, or make it yours.

Our mother sold chè from a cooler. We kept the recipes.

Uyên and Nhi Võ opened MÂY in 2019, a few blocks from where their mother sold chè out of a cooler at the summer night markets in the International District. The recipes for chè ba màu, chè Thái and flan are hers. The tea made to order is theirs.

“Mây” means cloud. The sisters named the shop after the grey Seattle sky: drizzle outside the door, bright color in the cup.
